BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience of minimum 5 years in pricing analysis, contract negotiation, or a related field.
Biosimilar, generics or legacy pharma/OTC experience.

JOB DESCRIPTION

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Objectives:
The Pricing, Tenders and Contracts Head is responsible for managing tender, pricing strategies and negotiating contracts for goods or services (including with partners) across Europe. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent negotiation abilities. The Pricing, Tender and Contracts Head collaborates with various departments, including sales, finance, and legal, to ensure profitability and compliance with company policies. The Head of Pricing, Tenders and Contracts chairs the Pricing Council and is instrumental in defining profitable growth across Europe’s heterogenous environment.

Pricing Strategy
Evaluate cost structures, profit margins, competitive and market trends to develop pricing models.
Recommend pricing adjustments based on market conditions and business objectives.
Monitor pricing performance and provide insights for pricing optimization.
Be the go-to-person for international reference pricing in Europe.
Contribute to future pipeline positioning with outlook on pricing, tender mapping for new products, with Head of Europe, Global Marketing and CCO Advanced Markets.

Tender Planning, Submission & Competitiveness
Propose optimal bidding price with appropriate profitability for senior management review and approval.
Oversight the process to ensure the readiness and accuracy of tender information with the required documentations and make the submission before the deadline.

Contract Negotiation
Collaborate with sales, legal, and other stakeholders to review and negotiate contracts with suppliers, customers, and partners.
Ensure contract terms align with business requirements and mitigate potential risks.
Identify opportunities for cost savings, favorable terms, and value-added provisions.
Prepare and present contract proposals and facilitate contract execution.

Contract Management
Maintain a centralized contract repository and ensure contracts are properly documented and filed.
Track contract milestones, renewal dates, and obligations to ensure compliance.
Coordinate contract amendments, extensions, and terminations as needed.
Collaborate with internal teams to resolve contract-related issues and disputes.

Stakeholder Collaboration
Work closely with sales teams to provide pricing guidance and support on proposals and bids.
Collaborate with finance teams to analyze pricing impact on profitability and financial forecasts.
Liaise with legal counsel to ensure contract terms are compliant with laws and regulations.
Communicate and negotiate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Experience & Background

Minimum 10+ years of experience in pricing and tender management, preferably within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors.
Prior exposure to biosimilars will be considered a significant advantage.

Core Competencies

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and trends.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid understanding of legal and contractual principles.
  • Proficiency in using pricing analysis tools, contract management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of the EU health care system and health policy.
  • Very good knowledge in dealing with institutions and organizations of the pan-EU health care system, in particular with EU5 markets and solid understanding of Rest of Europe.
  • Convincing communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking and abstraction skills.
  • High degree of initiative.
  • Willingness to travel and class B driving license.
  • Excellent English, other EU major language beneficial.
