Partner | Global Practice Leader – Industrial Software & Digital Transformation

Wenham Carter is proud to be supporting a fast-growing international industrial software company in their search for a Head of Product Security.

Our client is a highly innovative, global software business transforming operational data into actionable intelligence for asset-intensive sectors. Their solutions help electrical power companies optimize operations, reduce costs, and deliver a reliable, sustainable energy supply worldwide. With a strong presence across multiple regions, the company is at the forefront of digital transformation in critical energy infrastructure.

Head of Product Security

We are looking for a visionary Head of Product Security to lead and scale secure software development across the entire product portfolio. This is a high-impact role, blending hands‑on technical execution with strategic leadership. You will own the product security strategy end‑to‑end, embedding security throughout the software lifecycle and cloud infrastructure, so that customers can fully trust the company’s solutions.

This is a unique opportunity to establish a global product security function from scratch, shaping standards, mentoring teams, and driving a culture of secure software development across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership: Define and execute the product security vision; establish global best practices for secure development; build and mentor a network of product security champions; influence architecture, platform, and technology strategy.
  • Secure Software Development: Implement and evolve a secure SDLC integrated with CI/CD pipelines; champion “shift‑left” security; conduct threat modeling, code reviews, and architecture reviews.
  • Risk Management & Governance: Identify and assess security risks across applications, APIs, and cloud infrastructure; define secure coding standards; collaborate on audits and compliance certifications.
  • Incident Response & Vulnerability Management: Lead vulnerability triage, bug bounty programs, and remediation; stay ahead of emerging SaaS and cloud threats.
  • Culture & Collaboration: Advocate product security across the organization; deliver training and coaching for engineers; foster ownership of security within product teams.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
  • 10+ years in software product security, with at least 5 years in leadership roles.
  • Hands‑on expertise in application security, secure coding, and Azure‑based cloud architectures.
  • Experience securing SaaS or enterprise‑grade software products.
  • Deep knowledge of DevSecOps practices and modern security tooling.
  • Pragmatic, risk‑based decision‑maker with strong collaboration skills.
  • Experience with AI/ML security risks is a plus.
  • Energy, utilities, or industrial software experience is advantageous but not essential.

Why Join This Company?

  • Shape and lead a global product security function with real impact in the energy sector.
  • Collaborate in a flexible, international, and purpose‑driven environment.
  • Influence global security practices while advancing your own expertise.
  • Be part of a company driving digital transformation for critical infrastructure worldwide.

If you are a hands‑on product security leader ready to scale secure practices, streamline operations, and build a high‑performing team, we want to hear from you.
