Head of SAP

We are supporting a leading industrial engineering organisation based in Düsseldorf, employing over 8,000 people globally. Following continued international growth, they are now investing heavily in their digital landscape, with a major focus on cloud transformation through RISE with SAP and SAP BTP.

As part of this journey, they are looking to appoint a Head of SAP to define and lead their next-generation SAP strategy. There is an expectation to be on site 2-3 days per week in Düsseldorf.

The role Ownership of the SAP ecosystem, with a strong focus on cloud-based architecture and innovation Leadership of a distributed SAP function consisting of internal experts and external partners Driving the organisation’s transition to RISE with SAP, including BTP enablement and cloud integration initiatives Acting as a key advisor to executive leadership on technology direction and digital capabilities Designing and executing a forward-looking SAP roadmap aligned to business and IT strategy Contributing to team growth - hiring 3-4 SAP consultants/developers in 2026 Developing a scalable operating model across SAP platforms, including vendor and partner management

Your background Extensive experience within SAP, with a strong understanding of modern cloud-based architectures (e.g. RISE, BTP) Proven track record in leading SAP teams and driving large-scale transformation initiatives Comfortable in disciplinary responsibilities - and previous hiring responsibility Ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders at C-level Comfortable operating in a fast-evolving, transformation-driven environment
