FoodLabs builds companies that push the food system forward - healthier, more resilient, more sustainable - and can win in the real world. Your job is to turn messy, high-potential theses into fundable, founder-led ventures.

Our north star is simple: we want ventures that make the world better and are so compelling that a purely self-interested customer would still choose them.

What you’ll do

• Source and shape venture theses into crisp “problem + wedge + why now” concepts
• Run rapid discovery: interviews, pilots, prototypes, pricing tests, distribution experiments
• Build (or orchestrate) MVPs and first go-to-market loops; instrument learning and kill the weak ideas fast
• Create stage gates: explore → validate → commit → spin-out, with clear decision memos and kill criteria.

Build founder-market fit:

• Recruit and assess founders/operators; match talent to the right problems
• Coach early teams on focus, speed, narrative, and execution quality
• Design the spin-out path: cap table basics, early hiring plan, milestones, fundraising readiness

Operate the studio like a high-output machine

• Own studio cadence (weekly execution reviews, experiment tracking, decision forum)
• Collaborate tightly with the FoodLabs investment team on conviction, IC-ready memos, and follow-on strategy

• You’ve built things in the wild: products, companies, new business lines, or complex launches - ideally under real constraints
• You’re strong in ambiguity: you can choose the one bottleneck that matters and move it
• You think in experiments and distribution, not just strategy
• You can attract founders and talent, earn trust quickly, and drive decisions without drama
• You’re entrepreneurial, hardworking, optimistic, intellectually curious, and self-starting
• You value contrarian thinking and actively seek out perspectives that sharpen your judgment
