At Telura, we’re developing a new kind of drilling system which uses ultra-high-voltage electro-impulses to fracture hard rock and access geothermal energy, anywhere on Earth. The demand for clean energy is real, and recent advancements in research prove that the physics checks out - it’s a pure engineering challenge. We’ve completed key validation steps and are moving fast toward prototyping and proof-of-concept testing.

We’ve spent the past months validating the opportunity and developing a playbook to build one of the world’s most ambitious geothermal companies. Now, we’re assembling a world-class team of curious, collaborative and ambitious builders - and we’re looking for a high voltage electrical engineer to help us develop the pulse power systems at the heart of our technology.

What you’ll be working on

• Design and develop our high-voltage pulse delivery system (50–500 kV range) - from concept to prototype to market-ready design
• Own the architecture of pulse generation, switching, and system-level integration
• Build and test prototypes of pulse circuits (e.g. Marx-type) at sub- and full-scale
• Define insulation strategies and HV safety across diverse environmental conditions
• Collaborate closely with mechanical and thermal teams to ensure integrated system performance
• Support design of test infrastructure and assist with validation campaigns under realistic conditions
• Set up and improve development processes, with an eye on design, manufacturing and future operations. Defining how we’ll build, not just what we’ll build.
• Select and collaborate with external partners, suppliers and research labs
• Work closely with the founders and product team on roadmap and technical direction

Requirements

What you should bring

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics - PhD ideal, but not required
• 5+ years (min) of professional experience with very high voltage systems (50kV-500kV)
• Proficient in HV circuit design, switching devices, capacitor banks, insulation and pulse delivery
• Deep understanding of pulsed power systems and plasma discharge phenomena
• Able to recommend and help establish appropriate design and simulation toolsets
• Hands-on mentality: you enjoy building, iterating, and debugging high-energy hardware
• Structured and independent working style, with a willingness to take ownership
• Comfortable working in a hybrid setup (remote + on-site collaboration when needed), with potential to relocate to Munich in future
• Willingness to travel occasionally to partners, suppliers, and testing sites
• Ideally, experience working in a start-up or dynamic development environment
