HR Business Partner / Head of HR - Dresden, Germany

We are a growing deep-tech scale-up , building complex technology with a strong focus on ownership, problem-solving, and continuous learning . We are looking for our first HR leader — someone who will build the HR function from the ground up and support the company through its next phase of growth.

This role combines strategic ownership with a hands‑on mindset , acting as a trusted partner to leadership while shaping a strong, healthy, and inclusive company culture.

Your Impact

As our first HR hire, you will build, structure, and lead the People function end-to-end:

HR Strategy & Foundations

  • Define and own the HR strategy aligned with business growth and company values
  • Design and implement scalable HR processes, policies, and governance
  • Establish HR as a trusted strategic partner for leaders and employees
  • Design and execute a long‑term hiring strategy aligned with business needs
  • Partner closely with leaders on workforce planning and recruiting priorities
  • Continuously improve hiring processes, employer branding, and candidate experience
  • Design and implement performance management, feedback, and review cycles
  • Facilitate talent reviews, calibrations, and development discussions
  • Translate people and performance data into actionable development and retention initiatives

HR Operations & Systems

  • Own and further develop Personio as the central HR system
  • Ensure smooth HR operations across the full employee lifecycle
  • Optimize and automate workflows to ensure efficiency and scalability
  • Actively foster a strong, inclusive, and feedback‑driven culture
  • Support leaders on people topics such as communication, conflict resolution, and team development
  • Drive engagement, collaboration, and continuous learning across the organization

What You Bring

Experience

  • 5–7+ years of experience in HR or People Management roles, ideally as a (Senior) HR Business Partner
  • Proven experience building or scaling HR in fast‑growing or complex organizations
  • Strong knowledge of the German HR ecosystem and best practices
  • Hands‑on experience with Personio
  • Solid background in performance management, talent development, and cultural initiatives

  • Structured, pragmatic, and solution‑oriented approach
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills across all levels
  • Independent, proactive, and highly self‑driven with a strong sense of ownership
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives in parallel

Languages

  • Fluent in English and German (written and spoken)
