HR Generalist (Part-Time)

Role Overview

We’re looking for an experienced Part‑Time HR Generalist to join our People & Culture team. This role is hands‑on and varied. you’ll own recruiting coordination, payroll processing, and day‑to‑day HR generalist functions. The ideal candidate is organized, discreet, and comfortable working independently in a remote, fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Recruiting

• Post and manage job openings across multiple job boards and platforms
• Screen applicants and conduct initial phone screens
• Schedule and coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring managers
• Maintain candidate tracking and disposition records in our ATS (Rippling)

Payroll

• Process payroll across multiple pay cadences and multiple EINs with a high degree of accuracy
• Audit timekeeping records and resolve discrepancies prior to each payroll run
• Support state tax registration and employer account setup when expanding into new states
• Assist with payroll compliance issues, including multi‑state wage and hour requirements
• Identify and elevate payroll discrepancies or compliance risks proactively

HR Generalist

• Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including Rippling workflows and documentation
• Maintain and update HR documents, job descriptions, policies, and employee records
• Assist with employee relations inquiries and elevate as appropriate
• Coordinate employee training sessions, including scheduling and participation tracking
• Support ad‑hoc People & Culture projects as needed

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in an HR generalist or HR coordinator role
• Hands‑on payroll processing experience, preferably in a multi‑state environment
• Experience with full‑cycle recruiting coordination
• Proficiency with HRIS systems; Rippling experience strongly preferred
• Strong working knowledge of HR compliance across multiple states
• Exceptional attention to detail; accuracy in payroll processing is critical to this role
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in a healthcare or mental health setting is a plus

Job Details

• Type: Part‑Time, Hourly
• Hours: Approximately 20‑25 hours per week (flexible schedule)
• Pay Rate: $30–$35/hr, depending on experience
• Location: Remote/Hybrid — Preferably reside in Illinois, Utah, or California
