Overview

As HR Manager (f/m/d) on a temporary 12-month assignment, you will play a key role in ensuring stable, reliable and high-quality day-to-day HR support . Your primary focus will be on operational HR delivery, employee relations and hands-on support for leaders and employees, ensuring continuity, compliance and a positive employee experience in a fast-paced, matrix environment. You will act as a trusted and pragmatic HR contact for the business, combining strong HR generalist expertise with a service-oriented mindset.

This role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys being close to the business, handling operational topics end-to-end and providing clear, practical guidance.

Responsibilities

Operational HR support & employee relations

  • Provide hands-on, day-to-day HR support to leaders and employees across all employee-relations topics, including performance management, absence management, conflict cases, disciplinary matters, policy interpretation and labour-law-related questions
  • Act as the first point of contact for managers and employees, ensuring timely, pragmatic and compliant resolution of HR topics
  • Support leaders with people-related decisions by translating policies, processes and legal requirements into clear and actionable guidance
  • Contribute to a positive, respectful and inclusive working environment

Talent, performance & development (operational focus)

  • Coordinate and support the execution of performance management, talent and development processes in line with global and regional frameworks
  • Support line managers in the preparation and follow-up of development plans, feedback cycles and talent discussions
  • Ensure consistent application of HR processes and tools across the markets

Recruitment & workforce lifecycle

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment activities, including role clarification, coordination with recruiters, interview support, offers and onboarding
  • Ensure smooth and compliant employee lifecycle management, from hiring to exits

Engagement, culture & change support

  • Support the roll-out of engagement initiatives and follow-up actions at team and local level
  • Actively support change and communication activities by ensuring clear HR messaging and hands-on implementation
  • Provide practical HR support during periods of change, restructuring or transformation

HR operations, governance & systems

  • Ensure strict compliance with local labour law, internal policies and HR governance standards
  • Maintain high data quality in HR systems (primarily Workday) and support reporting and documentation requirements
  • Partner closely with Compensation & Benefits, Global Mobility, Payroll and regional HR colleagues to ensure smooth operational execution

What you bring

Experience & expertise

  • Several years of experience in an operational HR role, such as HR Manager, HR Generalist or HR Business Partner with a strong delivery focus
  • Solid and practical knowledge of German labour law; exposure to Austria and Switzerland is an advantage
  • Proven experience handling employee relations cases and supporting managers in day-to-day people topics
  • Strong understanding of HR processes across the full employee lifecycle
  • Experience working with HR systems and managing HR data and documentation

Skills

  • Strong service mindset with the ability to handle multiple operational topics in parallel
  • Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics in a pragmatic and accessible way
  • Structured, reliable and detail-oriented working style
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with HR colleagues and the business
  • Very good communication skills in German and English
  • Hands-on, pragmatic and solution-oriented approach
  • Approachable, trustworthy and resilient, even in challenging situations
