Indirect Tax Manager

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced Indirect Tax professional to join the dynamic and fast‑paced Retail division of a leading global e‑commerce organisation. While the role primarily supports the Retail business, there may be opportunities to contribute across other business areas as needed.

This position sits at the forefront of indirect taxation, offering broad exposure to complex VAT matters and regular engagement with senior business leaders. The successful candidate will bring strong technical expertise, particularly across German and EU VAT regulations, and will play an integral part in shaping tax compliance within a rapidly evolving commercial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide clear and practical guidance on legislative requirements and VAT case law developments across Germany and the EU.
• Advise on VAT compliance implications for new product launches, business initiatives, and expansion activities.
• Maintain ongoing collaboration and communication with German tax authorities (Finanzamt), ensuring accurate interpretation and application of regulatory requirements.
• Support business partners across the organisation by delivering high‑quality, timely tax insights that influence strategic decision‑making.

Required Qualifications

• Fluent in spoken and written German, with the ability to read and interpret complex tax legislation and official correspondence.
• Strong, demonstrable experience in German and EU VAT regulations, ideally gained within a large multinational, consultancy, or in‑house environment.
