Job Description
Develop and implement category & sourcing strategies aligned with corporate goals, focusing on supply security, cost reduction, and risk diversification
Lead and manage the category purchasing team, setting KPIs, monitoring performance, and fostering an empowerment culture
Manage the purchasing category budget, risks, and opportunities (short- and mid-term)
Drive strategic supplier relationships and negotiations to achieve cost savings and enhance the supplier network
Identify and develop new global sources of supply to optimise the supplier portfolio
Build and leverage market knowledge to provide insights on dynamics, drivers, and innovations in global purchasing markets
Ensure close collaboration with other departments and business partners to align purchasing strategies with overall business objectives
Deputise for the Director of Purchasing when required
Qualifications
Degree in economics or related field; or relevant professional training with sound experience
Minimum 10 years' experience in strategic buying, purchasing, or merchandising, preferably in FMCG or retail
Proven expertise in international sourcing, category management, and complex negotiations
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop international teams, with strong intercultural competence
In-depth knowledge of market-oriented purchasing strategies and supply market dynamics
Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills with ability to manage cross-functional change
Business fluent in English; additional languages advantageous
Willingness to travel internationally as required
