The Role

We are seeking an experienced Internal IT Audit Manager to join a European internal audit team based in Germany. This position is responsible for planning and executing IT audit engagements across a diverse global technology environment.

As the Engagement Lead, you will oversee the full audit lifecycle, from planning and risk assessment through execution and reporting, while building strong relationships with IT and business stakeholders.

This role is anindividual contributor position without direct people management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute IT audit engagements and reviews based on risk assessments and established audit methodologies
• Lead audit activities across assigned regions or business units, ensuring high-quality execution and documentation
• Evaluate internal controls, governance processes, and compliance frameworks
• Perform testing of IT systems, applications, and infrastructure controls in accordance with internal standards and regulatory requirements
• Assess the effectiveness of IT general controls (ITGCs) and related control environments
• Prepare and present audit reports outlining findings, risks, and improvement recommendations
• Provide practical recommendations that strengthen governance, internal controls, and regulatory compliance
• Build strong relationships with IT leadership and business stakeholders across the organisation

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
• 8+ years of experience in IT auditing or IT risk management
• Background in external or internal IT audit within large international organisations or consulting firms
• CISA certification (or equivalent) strongly preferred
• Extensive experience with IT controls and compliance frameworks
• Practical experience auditing enterprise systems including SAP environments
• Knowledge of SAP IT controls, access management, and governanceprocesses
• Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to present findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Must be fluent in both English and German at a Professional Level

Preferred Experience

• Additional certifications such as CISSP, CIA, or CRISC
• Experience supporting M&A activities, including IT due diligence and post-merger integration
• Familiarity with large-scale enterprise IT environments and complex global infrastructure

• The role is based in Dusseldorf, Germany with a hybrid working arrangement
• International travel of up to 35% may be required across Europe and occasionally, globally
