The Principal Directorate Administration of the Reserve Funds contributes to the long-term financial stability of the European Patent Organisation by assuming responsibility for investment activities related to Reserve Funds for Pensions and Social Security (RFPSS). The size of RFPSS, currently valued at nearly EUR 15bn, makes its management a vital factor in maintaining organisational health.

RFPSS assets are invested across a wide range of liquid asset classes with emphasis on equities and fixed income. They are managed internally through direct investments and third-party vehicles such as investment funds.

The Fund Administrator oversees RFPSS and its organisational units, proposing Investment Beliefs, Guidelines, Strategy and Strategic Asset Allocation along with other implementing rules to the Supervisory Board.
