IT-Architect / Solution Architect (m/f/d) - Life Sciences

On behalf of our partner adesso , we at Iconic Heads are looking for an IT Architect / Solution Architect (m/f/d) with strong consulting skills.

adesso is building a new Life Sciences Consulting unit – a startup within the company, combining entrepreneurial freedom with the stability of a leading IT provider. This team supports clients in the pharmaceutical industry by designing IT architectures that are both innovative and compliant. Responsibilities

• Design target architectures: Develop scalable, secure architectures for cloud, data, and integration landscapes.
• Integrate regulated systems: Connect applications such as MES, LIMS, QMS, ERP with modern cloud and analytics platforms.
• Ensure compliance: Embed regulatory frameworks (GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, ISO 27001, GDPR ) into architectural blueprints and documentation.
• Consult & align: Run architecture workshops, guide clients through technology choices, and translate business requirements into actionable solutions.
• Shape the unit: Contribute your expertise, methods, and vision to the build-up of adesso’s new Life Sciences consulting team.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience as an IT Architect, Solution Architect, or Enterprise Architect .
• Strong background in integration & cloud architectures (APIs, event-driven systems, Kubernetes, container platforms).
• Knowledge of security, validation, and data governance in regulated industries.
• Experience with architecture frameworks (TOGAF, ArchiMate) and agile delivery models (Scrum, SAFe) is a plus.
• Professional background in the pharmaceutical industry or another highly regulated sector (e.g., MedTech, Banking/Insurance, Automotive Safety, Energy).
• Fluent in English (C1) and German (B2).
