IT Infrastructure Engineer

• Location – Munich (Hybrid model: 3 days onsite per week)

We are seeking a senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our Infrastructure team and play a key role in modernizing and operating our hybrid IT landscape. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on engineer with in‑depth expertise in Microsoft, Azure, and Veeam who thrives in an ITIL‑aligned enterprise environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operate enterprise‑scale Hyper‑V platforms with a focus on performance, security, and scalability.
• Own and lead the Veeam Backup & Disaster Recovery strategy , including DR orchestration and RTO/RPO optimisation.
• Design and deploy the primary Azure Landing Zone using Infrastructure as Code (Bicep, Terraform, ARM).
• Act as the cloud subject‑matter expert, supporting the organisation’s cloud transformation journey.
• Champion an “automate‑first” mindset, continuously improving services, tooling, and operational practice.
• Collaborate with security and governance teams to ensure compliance with ISO 27001, NIST, and GDPR.
• Monitor and optimise hybrid workloads for performance, cost, and reliability.
• Contribute to 3rd‑line support and provide escalation support to the IT Service Desk.
• Proactively identify service improvements and deliver customer‑focused solutions.

Qualifications

• Strong enterprise experience with Hyper‑V and Microsoft infrastructure.
• Hands‑on expertise with Veeam Backup & Replication, including DR orchestration.
• Deep knowledge of Microsoft Azure, particularly Landing Zones, RBAC, networking, and security.
• Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates).
• Advanced automation and scripting skills (PowerShell, Azure CLI, Git).
• Experience administering Microsoft 365 and core services.
• Ability to perform basic Microsoft SQL administration.
• Experience operating and maturing an ITIL‑aligned infrastructure environment.
• Strong team player with a customer‑centric, value‑driven mindset.
• Fluent in German and English (spoken and written).

Nice to Have

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (or equivalent)
• Experience with hybrid identity (Azure AD Connect, Conditional Access)
• Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
