The Central Data Processing Department of the Financial Administration is the IT service and competence center of the financial administration of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate and is located in Koblenz.

Among other tasks, the ZDFin operates a central forensic evaluation platform for digital evidence for the tax investigation and criminal investigation authorities in Rhineland-Palatinate. The position advertised here therefore supports the investigation of tax crimes and tax irregularities, as well as the investigation of unknown tax cases. This exciting and constantly evolving field of activity is accompanied by comprehensive conceptual work, which will enable efficient case processing to continue to be guaranteed in the future with the help of a powerful IT operation.

The tasks to be performed include in particular:

• Administration and operation of the basic infrastructure of the new tax investigation environment
• Administration, monitoring, and maintenance of Windows Server infrastructures, including their virtualization based on VMware vSphere
• Support for Active Directory and Microsoft file server environments
• Conceptual support for a VDI infrastructure based on Omnissa Horizon
• Application support for the primarily used forensic software "Nuix"
• Documentation and continuous development of the IT infrastructure
• Collaboration with 3rd level support for hardware and software problems
• Responsible implementation of IT security measures in the area of responsibility

What you should bring with you:

• A Bachelor of Science degree in computer science or a comparable degree; alternatively, successfully completed training as an IT specialist in system integration with at least three years of professional experience.
• Good knowledge of current Windows server operating systems and architectures.
• Knowledge of virtualization with VMware.
• Knowledge of Linux administration.
• Knowledge of storage and SAN.
• Knowledge of dealing with complex, cross-functional error situations.
• Knowledge and practical experience in the use of common programming and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, HTML, Java)
• Good written and spoken German
  (Language level: competent language use C1/C2)

This is a permanent, open-ended position. You will receive comprehensive training in the relevant topics and tasks from experienced colleagues.

The position is subject to an employment contract. If the collective bargaining and personal requirements are met, the position may be classified in pay grade 10 TV-L. If the candidate is suitably qualified and meets the requirements under civil service law, it may be possible to become a civil servant at a later date.
