IT Support Engineer (m/f/d)

Stellenbeschreibung:

An internationally operating specialty insurer with offices in Cologne is looking to strengthen its local IT team. The company is part of a global insurance group with locations worldwide. The position is based in Cologne and works closely with the international IT Support Centre in London.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1st and 2nd level IT support for users in Germany and international locations
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software and network‑related issues
  • Administer Active Directory and Azure AD including user accounts and access rights
  • Support Microsoft 365 environments and Windows 11 systems
  • Assist with endpoint management including Intune
  • Manage and document incidents in the global ticketing system
  • Support hardware deployments, onboarding processes and asset management
  • Provide hands‑on support both remotely and directly at users’ workstations

Requirements

  • Several years of experience in IT support or service desk environments
  • Strong practical experience with Windows 11 and Microsoft 365
  • Experience administering Active Directory and Azure AD
  • Solid networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, DNS, VPN and general network troubleshooting
  • Experience with endpoint management tools such as Intune is an advantage
  • Experience working with ticketing systems and structured incident handling
  • Fluency in English and very good German skills
  • Willingness to work regularly onsite in the Cologne office

Education

A technical education in IT (for example Fachinformatiker, IT Systems Administrator or a comparable qualification) is beneficial. Equivalent practical experience in IT support environments is equally valued.

The role is aimed at a hands‑on IT Support Engineer with strong practical troubleshooting skills who enjoys working in an international environment and supporting users directly. Certifications are not mandatory; practical experience and the ability to solve technical problems efficiently are key.
