Junior Information Security Specialist (f/m/d)

Location: Eschborn, Employment: Full time, Salary: Unlimited.

As a Junior Information Security Specialist, you will support the Security Governance team with daily information security tasks across the GLS Group. You will assist in operating core security processes, maintaining documentation and helping ensure compliance with internal and external requirements. This role offers the opportunity to develop foundational skills in information security while working closely with experienced team members.

What can you expect with us?

• Support the operation and maintenance of the Group‑wide ISMS based on ISO 27001 and regulatory requirements
• Assist in implementing and documenting information security policies, standards and guidelines
• Maintain and update data in the Group‑wide GRC and Information Security Risk Management platforms under guidance
• Assist in applying the Information Security Risk Management process, including data collection and follow‑up tracking
• Support basic security risk assessments and help prepare related documentation
• Contribute to the preparation of information security KPIs, metrics and reports
• Assist in preparing materials for Information Security Steering Committees and other governance meetings
• Support compliance checks related to NIS2.0 and internal/external requirements
• Contribute to security awareness and training activities, including campaigns and phishing exercises

What do you bring to the table?

• Completed studies in computer science, business informatics, information security or comparable qualifications (internships/working student experience beneficial) is preferred
• Initial experience (0–2 years) in information security, IT governance, IT audit or risk management
• Basic understanding of ISO 27001, security governance or NIS2 requirements
• Interest in developing skills in risk management, compliance and ISMS operations
• Familiarity with GRC or IT risk tools is an advantage
• Strong analytical, documentation and communication skills
• Proficiency in English; German is an advantage
• High motivation to learn, improve processes and contribute to a strong security culture
