Junior Mission Control Systems Software Engineer

Join our Ground Software Systems team in Darmstadt and gain hands‑on experience in building and testing mission control software that monitors and controls satellites in orbit.

Your Mission

• Support the integration of software components in a mission control environment (MCS)
• Assist with installation, configuration and deployment of ground‑segment applications
• Contribute to creation of test plans, test data, and execution of functional/non‑regression tests

What We Are Looking For

• You are enrolled in (or recently completed) a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics or similar
• Basic programming/scripting knowledge (Python, Bash, C/C++ or Java)
• Comfortable working in Linux or Unix‑based environments
• Able to use version control tools (Git, SVN) and interested in software testing and quality assurance
• Strong analytical skills, good communication in English and willingness to learn in a dynamic international team
• Motivation, curiosity and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Nice to have (not required)

• Familiarity with mission control systems, space standards (ECSS/CCSDS), test automation or ground segment architecture
• Satellite monitoring and control (e.g. SCOS-2000)
