Laser Processing Engineer – Ultra-short Pulse / Femtosecond / Micro-processing

We are searching for a Laser Process Engineer to join our team in Greater Munich , and if you have spent your career pushing the boundaries of what femtosecond lasers can achieve and are ready to see your research drive mass-production solutions, this is the role for you.

As a Laser Processing Engineer your responsibilities will include:

• Next-Gen Production : You will spearhead the research and evolution of laser methodologies designed specifically for high-volume, customized manufacturing.
• Breaking Barriers : Your work will focus on overcoming current technical limits in high-precision welding of non-metals, micro-drilling of ceramics, and the intricate embedding of structures within glass.
• Platform Orchestration : You will leverage and maximize a world-class internal suite of technologies, including UKP lasers, multi-beam scanning, and advanced beam shaping.
• Strategic R&D Partnerships : Act as a lead collaborator with global research institutes and third-party experts to develop sophisticated process control systems.
• Digital Innovation : You will play a central role in constructing a multi-scale simulation platform to model and optimize laser-material interactions.
• Global Intelligence : Stay ahead of the curve by scouting the international ecosystem for emerging trends in ultra-precision material processing.

As a Laser Processing Engineer your skills will include:

• Academic Excellence: You hold a PhD in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• FS-Laser Mastery: You bring over five years of rigorous scientific experience, with deep technical expertise in femtosecond (fs) laser processing.
• Engineering Success: You have a demonstrated history of developing customized equipment for specialized laser applications.
• Interdisciplinary Leadership: You are a pragmatic, target-driven professional who excels in multicultural and multi-functional environments.
• Technical Communication: You possess exceptional English skills, enabling you to manage high-level partnerships and internal teams with clarity and influence.
