Lead Accountant (m/f/d)

We’re seeking an Lead Accountant to support our Germany and Austria entities.

As Assistant Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting the Director with daily operations to ensure our accounting records are complete and accurately reflect the company’s financial position in line with local laws, US‑GAAP and corporate policies.

This hybrid role, based in Germany, offers the opportunity to take ownership of tasks and will collaborate closely and proactively with EPAM’s Global Shared Services Centre teams, Controllership Support teams and external agencies.

Your contributions will be vital to the timely and accurate completion of local tax and statutory filings and related audits. We’re looking for someone who thrives on independence, can execute tasks with high‑level guidance and is driven to deliver results with confidence and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate strong understanding of Legal Entity operations and relevant country‑specific requirements
• Review and analyse monthly results during each closing to ensure accuracy of the reported Trial Balance in coordination with the Director, providing timely inputs as needed
• Support the Director in periodic Stat to US‑GAAP reconciliations and GAAP to Tax bridges for Deferred Tax calculations
• Assist the Director throughout the Statutory Audit process by coordinating information flow between central teams and auditors and ensuring quality reconciled data
• Prepare ad‑hoc analyses for statutory purposes as requested by auditors and agreed with the Director
• Investigate specific accounting issues and provide timely feedback
• Assist in tax audits by coordinating information collection and drafting responses within required deadlines
• Support with integration activities for newly acquired companies and provide additional ad‑hoc finance support as needed

Requirements

• Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or a related field with a valid local CPA qualification
• At least 5 years of accounting experience in a multinational company or audit services (Big4 preferred)
• Strong knowledge of statutory and IFRS/US‑GAAP accounting standards with basic understanding of taxation and transfer pricing
• Experience working in a Shared Services environment
• High integrity, reliability and a collaborative approach within Finance and with local or global colleagues
• Strong analytical and IT skills, preferably with SAP, ERP, Navision and MS Office
• Excellent communication skills in both German and English, written and oral
