A well-capitalised international renewable energy platform with over €2B of investment across Europe, rapidly expanding its battery storage portfolio. The business is active across 10 European countries and manages 2GW of renewable assets, with deep sector expertise across solar, wind and battery storage. With significant financial backing and an ambitious growth strategy, the company is scaling its utility‑scale BESS pipeline in Germany, with multiple projects progressing through development and execution phases.

Role Overview

Acting as Lead BESS Expert – Battery Storage Projects, you will sit at the centre of project delivery, ensuring that complex utility‑scale battery projects are engineered and executed to the highest technical standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading the technical design and engineering of utility‑scale BESS projects
• Owning the full project lifecycle, from concept and system design through construction and commissioning
• Overseeing installation, cabling and grid integration during project delivery
• Defining and managing FAT, SAT and system validation processes
• Driving system optimisation, modelling, simulations and lifecycle analysis
• Acting as the technical authority across internal teams, suppliers and EPC partners
• Supporting investment decisions by providing technical due diligence and performance insights

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in renewable energy or power infrastructure
• Strong technical background in BESS, power systems or grid integration
• Experience delivering utility‑scale energy projects through construction and commissioning
• Solid understanding of battery technology, system design and performance optimisation
• Familiarity with FAT, SAT and commissioning processes
• Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems or similar
• Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders including EPC contractors, suppliers and internal teams
• Fluent in English, fluency in German is advantageous.
