Lead Mechanical Engineer

• Lead the mechanical scope from pre-construction through to handover, covering HVAC, cleanroom systems, process utilities, and specialist fit‑out packages.
• Manage mechanical subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring works are delivered in line with programme, quality standards, and GMP requirements.
• Coordinate closely with design, CSA, electrical, commissioning, and validation teams to manage interfaces, resolve technical challenges, and de‑risk delivery.
• Take ownership of mechanical procurement, including technical reviews, commercial alignment, and sequencing of works.
• Drive installation quality through inspections, testing, and compliance with project specifications and regulatory standards.
• Support commissioning, Cx, and validation activities by ensuring structured system turnover and documentation readiness.
• Maintain clear and accurate reporting on progress, risks, and change, escalating issues early to protect programme and cost.
• Enforce site HSEQ standards and ensure full contractor compliance across all mechanical activities.

Experience & Background

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Lead, Mechanical Manager, or Senior Mechanical Engineer on pharmaceutical, life sciences, or cleanroom fit‑out projects.
• Strong contractor‑side delivery background with hands‑on experience across HVAC, cleanroom, and mechanical services packages.
• Experience working in GMP‑regulated environments, including exposure to commissioning and validation phases.
• Solid understanding of MEP sequencing, multidisciplinary interfaces, and construction logistics.
• Confident leading subcontractors and coordinating effectively within multi‑disciplinary project teams.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services.
• Relevant professional certifications or trade background considered advantageous.
• Experience delivering projects in Europe or other regulated manufacturing environments preferred.
