Lead Principal System Architect Automotive On-board charger and DC/DC converters (f/m/div)

As a Lead Principal System Architect for Automotive On-board charger and DC/DC converters on Infineon’s Research & Development team, you will shape future technology by leading groundbreaking projects.

Responsibilities

• Define and analyze concepts for Infineon’s automotive solution offering, evaluating alternative concepts.
• Understand, structure, and analyze system requirements and define system architecture for development projects.
• Scout future technical trends, analyze their impact, consolidate them for the application roadmap, and present to internal stakeholders.
• Translate application requirements into product requirements for future products.
• Identify, evaluate, and drive innovative ideas to keep the company ahead in the industry.
• Support Application Marketing in executing marketing strategies and promoting Infineon’s solutions.
• Provide expert application-level design‑in support (e.g., trainings) and technical guidance to system application engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or related field.
• At least 12 years of experience in automotive power converter electronics at a system supplier or vehicle manufacturer.
• Proven experience with high‑voltage power converter hardware, software, and system architecture.
• Detailed knowledge of automotive microcontrollers, power converter topologies, and wide‑bandgap power switches.
• Strong hands‑on approach and problem‑solving mindset.
• Customer‑facing capability with clear communication and structured troubleshooting skills.
• Willingness to travel occasionally and adaptability to working with customers and stakeholders.
