Lead Software Engineer in Test (m/w/d)

at remberg, you will work closely together with our Product and Engineering teams to ensure we deliver a high-quality product at all times through a high degree of automation. You’ll take ownership of testing strategies, establishing best practices, and fostering a strong testing culture, while also empowering your team to deliver high-impact solutions.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES You lead and mentor the QA Engineering team, fostering a culture of quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement

You define and drive the QA strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and enabling the team to scale testing processes effectively

You act as the main point of contact for quality across teams, facilitating cross-functional collaboration with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success teams

You empower your team to innovate and adopt best practices in testing, automation, and quality assurance processes

You work closely with our product and engineering teams to identify testing needs and integrate them into the software development lifecycle

You build and maintain robust test automation frameworks and own the tools, frameworks, and data that enable scalable automated testing, ensuring no bug reaches production

You establish and enforce state-of-the-art testing principles, driving process improvements and onboarding peer engineers to adopt these best practices

You analyze coverage gaps and identify opportunities to improve and speed up testing complex testing scenarios, involving micro-services and our mobile applications

You take end-to-end ownership and directly contribute to the remberg codebase as a quality assurance engineer

You are responsible for maintaining and expanding the test automation suites (e.g., Cypress for our Angular 2+ solution) and supporting manual test execution as needed

YOUR PROFILE You are looking for a challenging, fast-paced environment and have already proven in a similar position that you can work independently in a data-driven, highly reliable and structured manner. You have a strong engineering background, delivering and ensuring high-quality code for more than 5 years, with experience in leadership or mentoring roles

You have a proven track record of implementing and driving testing strategies across teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals

You have hands-on experience in different types of testing and practical implementation of the Testing Pyramid, with a focus on scaling testing processes in growing teams

You have successfully led quality initiatives, establishing metrics, tracking progress, and driving improvements that positively impact product quality and delivery speed

You have solid experience with end-to-end testing frameworks like Cypress, Playwright, NightwatchJs, Selenium, or equivalent, and have guided teams in their effective use

You are skilled in fostering collaboration, providing technical mentorship, and enabling team members to excel in their roles

You are a proactive problem solver, consistently improving code, workflows, and engineering practices across teams

You embrace feedback and cultivate a culture where team members learn, grow, and support one another

You thrive in an environment where mistakes are opportunities to learn, and you bring your enthusiasm and positivity into the team

You have a strong written and spoken command of English (level C1), enabling effective communication across teams and stakeholders.
