Digital Client Channels for our Commercial Banking Tribe Domain

You will join the Commercial Banking Tribe Domain, the digital engine behind Deutsche Bank’s small and medium‑sized enterprise (SME) business in Germany, one of the bank’s strongest growth areas.

Our mission: To transform the digital experience of :800,000 clients across three major brands. We build and scale the BizBanking platform, enabling modern digital sales journeys, intuitive self‑service capabilities, and highly automated banking processes.

As a Lead Solution Architect (f/m/x) for our Digital Client Channels tribe you will be the driver of innovation and creation for our new Online and Mobile Banking in aspects of design and technology.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Shape the end‑to‑end solution architecture for online and mobile banking, including designing secure and scalable Backend‑for‑Frontend (BFF) and service APIs that power our digital channels.
• Work closely with Product Owners, Engineering Leads, and cross‑functional squads to translate business goals into robust architecture roadmaps and actionable designs with clear non‑functional requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the bank security, identity, data, payments, compliance, and enterprise architecture to ensure alignment, design governance, and architectural consistency.
• Elevate engineering standards across web, mobile, BFF, and backend services by guiding cloud‑native patterns, reliability engineering practices, threat modeling, observability, and secure SDLC principles.
• Design architectures that scale across multiple brands and international markets, supporting localization, feature‑flagged rollout, regulatory requirements, accessibility, and platform reuse.

Your Skills And Experiences

• University degree in a technological or scientific field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics) or equivalent hands‑on professional experience in complex software environments.
• Proven experience designing modern architectures for digital channels, including APIs, microservices, integration patterns, and cloud‑native platforms.
• Strong ability to collaborate with Product Owners, engineers, and cross‑functional stakeholders to translate business needs into secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
• Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals such as security, resilience, observability, performance optimization, and cost‑efficient system design.
• Excellent English communication skills at C1–C2 level, enabling effective work in an international, distributed team.
