Legal Council

A leading renewable energy company in Germany is seeking a Legal Counsel who will be a trusted advisor to management and all departments across the business. You will ensure legal compliance, manage external legal counsel where needed, and provide pragmatic advice to enable growth and innovation in the energy sector.

About Them

They are an innovative company driving the energy transition through decentralized solutions – from solar and battery systems to electric vehicle charging, CHP, and hydrogen projects. To strengthen their legal team, they are looking for an experienced and business-oriented Legal Counsel to support our strategic and operational activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise company management on all legal matters and strategic corporate decisions.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of contracts, including EPC, O&M, supply, rental, leasing, and energy-related agreements (PPAs, etc.).
• Monitor internal company processes to ensure compliance with data protection, labor law, and other regulatory requirements.
• Oversee energy legislation and regulatory developments, adapting contractual frameworks accordingly.
• Support business development and operations with legal input on confidentiality agreements, project implementation, and contract execution.
• Liaise with and manage external legal counsel.
• Provide legal support to accounting, billing, and other administrative functions.

Your Profile

• Degree in Law and admission to the Bar (or equivalent).
• German qualified lawyer
• Several years of professional experience, ideally in the energy, infrastructure, or industrial sectors.
• Strong expertise in energy law , especially decentralized energy distribution (solar, batteries, CHP, EV charging, hydrogen, etc.).
• In-depth knowledge of contract law , including PPAs, real estate contracts, rental agreements, and M&A.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills, with a focus on efficiency and business impact.
• Fluent in German & English
