Job Description:

We are seeking a Legal Counsel Specialist (m/f/x) at KONUX, and you will contribute to the fast growth of a scaling company in the AI space. You will provide legal advice to the whole organization on different legal topics, working closely with our General Counsel and internal stakeholders. You will deal with a wide range of complex matters, spanning multiple domains from (international) public procurement- and trade law to corporate- and information technology (IT) & intellectual property (IP) law. Apart from the legal substantive matters, you will also own and execute legal admin and proactively improve legal related workflows and collaboration. You understand the basics of project management and can live up to short- and long-term timelines, while always having the bigger picture in the back of your mind. The role provides ample learning opportunities and requires you to take ownership and push to completion.

Job Description:

We are seeking a Legal Counsel Specialist (m/f/x) at KONUX, and you will contribute to the fast growth of a scaling company in the AI space. You will provide legal advice to the whole organization on different legal topics, working closely with our General Counsel and internal stakeholders. Your Impact:

• You provide substantive and strategic legal advice to all KONUX departments


• You work on various projects from supporting the set up of new international entities to establishing a self-service system for legal advice in the company


• You manage the public procurement process for customer contracts in different jurisdictions.


• You manage external law firms to out- deliver within budget


• You shape and execute our IP strategy


• You perform risk assessments, and enable informed decision making


• You review, draft and support contract negotiations with customers, suppliers, and partners in close cooperation with internal stakeholders


• You provide in-house legal training


• You draft/rework and educate our team on KONUX policies


• You support with various tasks around corporate housekeeping, compliance, and governance


• You assure conformity with applicable global data protection laws

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have:

• You are curious to understand new technologies, and you love working on a broad range of topics simultaneously


• You are organized, analytical, and pragmatic, you have business sense and a strong hands-on attitude


• You have a minimum of 5 years of full-time work experience as a legal counsel in a start-up or a mid-sized company


• You are a German qualified lawyer (Volljurist/in bzw. Syndikusrechtsanwalt/-anwältin)


• You have excellent knowledge in at least two areas of the law:
  1) Contract- and trade law
  
  2) IP/IT law (AI, Data, SaaS, proprietary (embedded) software, OSS)
  
  3) Corporate law
  
  4) European Public Procurement law


• You hold first contract drafting experience, and you skilfully write legal documents


• You are familiar with MS Office and/or G-Suite and will easily learn new tools like Slack, Confluence, etc


• You embrace legal tech and understand how to prudently integrate tech solutions in your daily work, such as generative AI, DeepL, SaaS, and software solutions


• You have full working proficiency in English and German
