Linux engineer ( Veritas / Pacemaker )

Overview

The Unix Engineering team is responsible for the strategy, engineering and delivery of the Linux and UNIX platforms within the bank. Our focus is on automating all aspects of deployment, configuration, testing and management of the hardware, firmware, OS and clustering stack by integrating automation tooling into a larger continuous integration framework and pipeline.

Responsibilities

• Engineer standard HA solutions using SuSE HA
• Test components for compatibility and safety
• Develop automation to reduce toil and privileged access
• Write technical documentation (design docs, training materials, white papers)
• Manage and resolve critical problem cases as Level 3/4 SME
• Build Linux RPMs

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Veritas, Pacemaker, and other HA solutions on Linux
• Expertise in RedHat Enterprise Linux & Suse Linux Enterprise Server
• Broad Unix OS knowledge and associated technology stacks
• S-level troubleshooting and tuning (memory, disk, network, file system)
• Experience with Ansible, Git/Stash, TeamCity/Jenkins, Jira, Confluence
• Strong scripting skills (Python, Perl, Shell)
