Linux System Administrator

Our client are a leading German financial services group based in Düsseldorfe and are seeking to hire a freelancer.

Your Responsibilities

You will play a key role in the operation, modernisation and ongoing maintenance of their IT infrastructure. This includes monitoring server and service availability, managing automated data processing, and handling the receipt, processing and follow-up of user-reported faults and error messages.

Areas of focus include:

• Maintenance, installation and modernisation of server systems
• Independent incident and problem management for Linux and Windows servers
• Maintenance and further development of script-based data processing workflows
• Supporting your team and internal departments in day-to-day operations
• Expanding and maintaining documentation for systems and processes

What You Bring

Technical Skills:

• Networked environments and network protocols
• Scripting with Bash and Python
• Practical knowledge of: Linux, Samba, IMAP/SMTP, DNS, DHCP

Experience & Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience following completion of relevant training or studies
• German language skills at C1 level or above
• Good English language skills, both written and spoken
