Your Responsibilities
1. Export Control & Trade Compliance (Primary Focus)
- Central Point of Contact: You serve as the primary contact for export control, customs, and trade compliance at the management level.
- Regulatory Framework: You develop and implement structures and processes based on AWV, EU Dual-Use Regulation , and US Re-export laws (ITAR/EAR) relevant to the aerospace sector.
- Permit Management: You manage the entire lifecycle of export authorizations (e.g., BAFA submissions), including deadline tracking and condition management (DE/EU/US).
- Operational Oversight: You coordinate import/export processes and review trade/customs documents to ensure quality assurance in collaboration with the CFO and SCM.
- Weapons Law & Legal Monitoring: You monitor developments in foreign trade and weapons law, ensuring practical implementation of new requirements.
- Authority Relations & Audits: You act as the main interface for external authorities (e.g., BAFA, Customs) and lead the preparation and execution of official audits.
- Training: You design and deliver specialized training on export control, customs, and weapons law for various internal audiences.
2. Internal Control & Group Reporting (Interface to our colleagues in France)
- Internal Control Framework (ICF): You implement and maintain the internal control system according to Group guidelines and French listed company standards (e.g., Sapin II / AMF ).
- Self-Assessments: You coordinate and perform annual internal control self-assessments to safeguard the €180M turnover and operational processes.
- Process Optimization: You identify opportunities to optimize systems and structures to enhance control effectiveness and operational efficiency.
- Reporting Line: You provide direct reporting to the Export Responsibility Officer (Ausfuhrverantwortlicher), the CFO, and the French HQ.
3. Site Compliance Management (General Compliance)
- Local Compliance Officer: You act as the first point of contact for all compliance-related issues for the 80-employee site (e.g., Anti-Corruption, Code of Conduct).
- Policy Implementation: You ensure the rollout of Group-wide compliance policies and adapt them to local German legal requirements.
- Advisory Role: You advise management and specialist departments on all compliance and trade-related risks.
Job Requirements
Your Profile
- Completed degree in law, business administration, industrial engineering, international business, customs law or a comparable qualification.
- Several years of relevant experience (at least 8 years) in export control, customs, and compliance management, preferably in an international industrial setting.
- Profound understanding of foreign trade regulations (AWG/AWV, EU Dual-Use Regulation, Union Customs Code) as well as knowledge of US regulations (ITAR, EAR).
- Strong experience in setting up and applying compliance management systems (e.g. IDW PS 980, ISO 37301).
- Confident handling of SAP (MM/SD module) and common MS Office tools.
- Fluent German (C2) and very good English skills (C1).
