Are you passionate about subcontract management with focus on MEP and ready to take on a leadership role? As Manager (m/f/d) Subcontract Management MEP, you will lead a team of highly motivated specialists and, together with them, assume responsibility for complex, technically demanding work packages with a focus on MEP. Your team is responsible for MEP work packages throughout the entire project lifecycle – from the bidding phase through execution and commercial management on the construction site to project completion. You will work closely with interdisciplinary interfaces such as Engineering, Project and Commercial Management, Scheduling, Legal, and Construction Management.

Explore your tasks and responsibilities

  • Leadership: Provide functional and disciplinary leadership for the MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Process) subcontracting team.
  • Onboarding & Team Development: Ensure an optimal onboarding process for new employees and support the professional and personal development of your team through regular feedback discussions and clear goal setting.
  • Process & Continuous Improvement Management: Optimize existing structures by analyzing, further developing, and implementing future oriented processes and tools.
  • Escalation Management: Act as the escalation point for complex issues arising during project execution.
  • Tendering & Contract Management: Responsibility for the preparation of tenders, negotiation, awarding, and execution of works contracts and works-and-supply contracts with a value in the multi million euro range.
  • Execution: Managing and monitoring subcontractor performance and progress, as well as handling the commercial processing of subcontractor claims.
  • KPI Management: Ensure compliance with KPIs defined by Global Procurement.
  • Interface Management: Close collaboration with Engineering, Design, Quality, Scheduling, and Project Management.

Show your expertise

  • Completed degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a comparable discipline.
  • Several years of project experience in large-scale projects, preferably in the construction or plant engineering industry.
  • Understanding of project execution models (EPC, EPCM, etc.).
  • Knowledge of contracts under VOB, BGB, or HOAI is an advantage.
  • Experience in leading and developing procurement teams.
  • Very good IT skills, particularly MS Office and ERP systems (ideally SAP S/4HANA, SAP Ariba).
  • Business fluent English and German skills, written and spoken.
  • Willingness to travel and the ability and enthusiasm to lead and motivate a team.
  • Strong decision making skills, openness to change, and pronounced social competence combined with a solution oriented working style.
  • Enjoyment of actively shaping a dynamic environment and a solid technical understanding.
