Marine Superintendent

My client is a leading maritime service provider, operating a diverse fleet of vessels, including container ships, bulk carriers, and multi-purpose vessels. Key Responsibilities

• Ensure vessels' documentation is up-to-date and compliant with all legal regulations, such as ISM, UVV, MARPOL, SOLAS, etc.
• Handle all relevant communication with flag states, classification societies, and other stakeholders.
• Conduct regular vessel inspections to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Monitor and manage the performance of assigned vessels, including fuel consumption and operational efficiency.
• Coordinate with technical departments to plan and oversee maintenance, repairs, and dry-docking activities.
• Provide guidance and support to vessel crews to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Investigate incidents and accidents, implement corrective actions, and develop preventive measures.
• Stay updated on industry developments and regulatory changes to ensure company compliance.

Qualifications and Experience

• Completed studies in ship engineering or a related field.
• Extensive work experience in a responsible position as Chief or Second Engineer.
• Basic knowledge of business administration, including reporting and budget planning.
• Good communication skills with fluency in English; proficiency in German is preferred.
• Knowledge of the ISM system.
• Flexibility and willingness to travel internationally.
