About the Position

Master’s Student in the field of Materials and Processes (d/f/m) for a Master’s Thesis in Materials & Processes – Analysis of Cold Gas Sprayed Aluminum Coatings. The role is part of the Materials and Processes team at Airbus Defence and Space.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Develop the Master’s Thesis – investigate coating quality of cold gas sprayed aluminum layers using non‑destructive testing methods.
• Study the capabilities of various NDT techniques to assess coating quality, identify correlations with mechanical properties, and evaluate suitability for process‑accompanying quality control.
• Analyse the internal coating quality, particle bond, porosity, and interface conditions of aluminum-based layers.

Required Knowledge and Qualifications

• Master’s studies in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Materials Science or a related subject.
• Fluency in English.
• Basic German knowledge.
