Mechanical Engineer (m/f/d) - Precision Systems for Photonic Probes

Tasks

• Create mechanical components and custom equipment for our production lab
• Hands-on involvement in developing, assembling and testing new opto-mechanical setups
• Analyze and optimize mechanical tolerances, stability, and alignment in our handling, gluing, and measurement processes
• Standardize mechanical fixtures on the production line while enabling product customization
• Work with external workshops and partners for custom manufacturing and sourcing

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (e.g., precision engineering, mechatronics), with solid practical experience in industrial manufacturing
• Experience with 3D CAD software for mechanical design (e.g. Fusion 360, Onshape, Solid Edge)
• Expertise in precision positioning applications (sub-micron), including vibration and mechanical stability considerations
• Fluent communication in English
• 3 years or more of work experience in an industrial environment are desirable
• Familiarity with cleanroom-compatible materials and design practices is desirable
