The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) Vaccines RSV (Respiratory syncytial virus) develops and maintains trusted relationships with healthcare professionals and institutions in the area of RSV prevention. As a scientific expert, the MSL serves as a strategic link between our client and the medical community. The MSL contributes significantly to the dissemination of scientific knowledge about the Burden of Disease of respiratory infectious diseases with focus on RSV and the protection vaccines and passive immunization can offer. The position requires a deep understanding of the RSV pathophysiology, vaccine technologies and passive immunization strategies and differentiating clinical evidence.

The MSL supports the implementation of RSV vaccination strategies in clinical practice in Germany.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Scientific Exchange & Medical Education

  • Communication and medical education on current scientific data on RSV prevention strategies in infants, including data on implementation, efficacy, safety, immunogenicity and pharmacokinetics.
  • Primary focus: conducting educational events and scientific presentations for pediatricians and other relevant specialist groups in hospitals
  • Presentation of study results (Phase III data, real-world evidence) on RSV prevention strategies at scientific forums
  • Scientific support concerning questions regarding RSV epidemiology, disease burden, risk groups, implementation of prevention strategies
  • Provision of evidence-based information on RSV prevention
  • Building and maintaining long‑term relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), primarily in the field of pediatrics, Stakeholdermanagement
  • Collaboration primarily with university hospitals and hospitals
  • Identification and development of scientific collaborations and a trusted partnership with the hospital staff involved in RSV prevention

Medical Insights

  • Systematic collection of medical insights on RSV prevention strategies and implementation
  • Identification of unmet medical needs in the area of RSV and respiratory infections and systematic communication to internal stakeholders
  • Collection and analysis of feedback on vaccination recommendations, implementation barriers, and acceptance factors
  • Monitoring of scientific developments, publications, and congress contributions in the area of respiratory infectious disease in children with a clear focus on RSV
  • Documentation of findings and insights from scientific exchanges in the CRM (customer relationship management) systems Cross-functional Collaboration
  • Close cooperation with the office based Medical Affairs team
  • Active support in the development and implementation of medical strategies for RSV preventions strategies
  • Collaboration with global and regional Medical teams to ensure consistent scientific communication
  • Contribution to and Co‑development of scientific materials and training documents
  • Participation in internal strategy meetings and scientific Advisory Boards

Education Required

  • Completed degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, Biology, or related Life Sciences (Master or equivalent), preferably with a doctorate in a relevant field or specialist training in Pediatrics, Infectious Diseases, Pulmonology or General Medicine

Professional Experience

  • Preferably 2-5 years of relevant professional experience in the pharmaceutical industry, clinical research, or as an MSL
  • Experience in conducting scientific presentations and medical education programs
  • Experience in the vaccines area strongly preferred
  • Solid knowledge of infectious diseases and/or respiratory diseases
  • Proven experience in working with healthcare professionals, KOLs, and scientific institutions

Language Skills

  • Fluent German and English language skills (written and spoken) required
  • Ability to present complex scientific content in both language

Work Location

  • Home office‑based position with regular field appointments in the assigned territory
  • Flexible working hours according to the requirements of the role
