Mergers and Acquisitions Director

We are supporting the growth of a well-established M&A Advisory platform in Frankfurt that is looking to hire a Director to strengthen its senior execution and client coverage capabilities. The role sits at the intersection of deal execution, client relationship management, and business development, with clear progression towards Partner / Managing Director depending on performance.

The Director will lead complex sell-side and buy-side mandates, manage senior client relationships, and play an active role in developing the firm’s M&A franchise in Germany and across Europe.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end execution of M&A transactions, primarily on sell-side and buy-side mandates
• Act as the primary day-to-day contact for clients, including founders, shareholders, corporates, and private equity investors
• Structure transactions, oversee valuation work, financial modelling, and deal documentation
• Manage and mentor Managers, Associates, and Analysts across multiple live mandates
• Coordinate closely with legal, tax, and other advisors throughout the transaction process
• Support origination efforts through client development, pitch preparation, and participation in meetings
• Contribute to the development of sector expertise and market positioning
• Ensure high quality deliverables and adherence to internal quality and risk standards

Requirements

• 8+ years of relevant experience in M&A Advisory, Investment Banking, Transaction Advisory, or a comparable corporate finance environment
• Strong track record of leading M&A transactions from origination through to closing
• Deep understanding of valuation methodologies, financial modelling, and transaction structuring
• Experience working with mid-market corporates, private equity, and institutional investors
• Proven ability to manage teams and multiple workstreams in parallel
• Strong commercial mindset with growing origination exposure
• Excellent communication skills in German and English (both required)
• University degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
