Motion Control Engineer – Advanced Mechatronic Systems (Hybrid | Up to €90k)

I’m currently supporting a company building next‑generation multi‑test‑head mechatronic systems. We’re looking for an engineer with strong classical control, system identification, and dynamic modelling experience.

This is not a general ML/AI role – the focus is on real dynamic systems: multi‑body modelling, friction models, and flexible structures.

Role Focus

Primary: High‑performance Motion Control Design

Secondary (future): Motion Planning & AI

Tech Stack: C++ and Python

Work Model: Hybrid, typically 3/4 days onsite

Location: Wertheim

Salary: Up to €90,000 (depending on seniority)

Responsibilities

• Analyse and model elastic, multi‑body mechatronic systems
• Develop algorithms for coordination, planning, and high‑performance motion control
• Build modern control system architectures, including embedded components and auto‑code‑generation tools
• Validate models and controllers via simulations, test rigs, and production machines

Necessary Background

• Degree in engineering, natural sciences, mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
• Strong knowledge in analysing and designing modern digital control systems (e.g., MPC), particularly for mechatronic drive systems and robotic.
• Proficient in C/C++ and Python, including the use of control systems libraries.
• Experience with practical model and controller validation (e.g., recording Bode diagrams, grey‑box parameter optimisation).
• Works independently with a structured, reliable, and solution‑oriented approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills in German and English, combined with a high level of creativity.
