Role Summary

The MRO Expert will support Lufthansa Consulting’s clients by designing and delivering maintenance planning solutions aimed at optimising aircraft maintenance operations across multiple bases. The focus is on improving efficiency, cost control, material availability, and operational reliability within complex maintenance environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and refine maintenance planning tools and frameworks to optimise maintenance schedules, checks, and task allocation
• Analyse maintenance demand, capacity, and utilisation across multiple line and base maintenance locations
• Support optimisation of spare parts inventory, stock levels, and logistics to reduce AOG risk and excess inventory
• Advise on best practices in maintenance planning, forecasting, and reliability-driven maintenance
• Work closely with client maintenance, engineering, and supply chain teams to implement practical solutions
• Contribute to project-specific deliverables as defined per client engagement

Project Structure

• Scope, tasks, and deliverables are defined per project and agreed in advance in a project-specific annex
• Engagements are advisory and project-based, aligned to client needs and timelines

Profile Typically Required

• Senior-level experience in aircraft maintenance operations, planning, or engineering
• Strong understanding of MRO processes, line and base maintenance, and material planning
• Experience with maintenance planning systems, reliability programs, or optimisation tools
• Airline, MRO, or OEM background strongly preferred
• Able to operate independently in a consulting environment and engage credibly with senior client stakeholders
