National Account Manager (m/f/d)

Overview

Westfalia Fruit is a leading multinational supplier of high quality fresh fruit and related products to global markets. Through our vertically integrated supply chain, we grow, source, ripen, pack, process and market high-quality avocados and fresh produce - 365 days a year and around the globe. With the largest avocado acreage in the world, we are recognised as a leading Avoexpert and are a preferred supplier to retail and wholesale customers, serving them from sales offices in the UK, Europe, North America, Latin America and Southern Africa.

We have a new opportunity for an experienced National Account Manager to join our German team on a permanent basis. In this dynamic and exciting role, you will be responsible for managing and developing various product categories and implementing business development strategies to capitalise on opportunities. As required, you will travel to other locations in Europe and the UK to meet with existing customers and maintain and build strong strategic partnerships.

Base pay range

Base pay range is provided by Westfalia Fruit. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and qualify business opportunities with retailers, wholesalers and other potential customers in Germany and Eastern Europe
  • Develop and implement successful strategies to achieve ambitious sales targets
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the fresh produce market, including trends, challenges and opportunities
  • Monitor and analyse sales data, market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities and risks
  • Develop market-leading strategies for new product development in the fresh produce and value-added categories
  • Prepare detailed reports for long-term forecasting and planning
  • Provide overviews of sales, volumes, margins and pricing as required
  • Liaise with supply chain, finance and other internal teams to ensure product availability, correct pricing and timely delivery
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows and conferences to build contacts and brand awareness

Qualifications

  • Essential: Experience of managing retail accounts, specifically in the fruit and vegetable/fresh food sector
  • Fluent in German and English (Native/C1-C2 level)
  • Strong existing relationships with key retailers in the market
  • Assertiveness and an independent and reliable way of working as well as willingness to travel
  • Experience in negotiating and finalising contracts with retailers
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

Desirable

  • Additional fluency in other European languages (Spanish, French) is beneficial
  • Experience of working across multiple European markets, understanding regional market dynamics
