At the Institute for the Protection of Maritime Infrastructures in Bremerhaven, we research and develop innovative solutions to strengthen the resilience of maritime infrastructures and make them adaptable, safe and sustainable. In close cooperation with partners from research, industry and other maritime security stakeholders, we combine technological innovation with practical expertise and offer you the opportunity to work on pioneering projects.
Are you fascinated by science and the latest and most advanced sensor technologies that can help strengthen maritime security? In a research project on Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS), you will investigate the acquisition and evaluation of acoustic signals using fibre-optic sensor technology in maritime environments. The tasks include the planning, implementation and supervision of measurement campaigns with subsequent data analysis as well as the analysis of large DAS data sets from long-term installations. This includes in particular hydroacoustic signal processing, development and application of suitable analysis and evaluation methods as well as the scientific interpretation, documentation and publication of the results.
The position offers you an exciting opportunity for your professional development, as well as support if you wish to pursue a PhD. Your work will contribute to the development of modern sensor technologies, which – in the context of an increasingly complex security and geopolitical situation - are gaining in importance for maritime reconnaissance, protection and technological sovereignty.
