Become a part of our talented dteq team, as we look for a Naval Architect (m/w/d) in Bremen, Germany.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform structural, stability, fatigue and FEM analyses using ANSYS, Inventor or similar applications.
• Design load‑spreading systems, grillage structures, and seafastening solutions.
• Perform global and local strength calculations for barges.
• Prepare and review stowage, lashing plans and related calculations.
• Develop engineering documentation including manufacturing drawings, stress analyses, method statements, lifting & rigging plans, and relevant technical reports.
• Conduct motion response analysis using Octopus Office 6.
• Prepare barge ballast plans and mooring analyses.
• Supervise cargo‑handling operations when required.
• Collaborate closely with internal deugro group companies and maintain professional communication with dteq clients.

Skills, knowledge and expertise

• At least 3 years of experience as a Naval Architect, Marine Transport Engineer, or a similar role in the heavy‑lift industry.
• Degree in Naval Architecture, Structural Engineering or comparable education.
• Strong knowledge of relevant industry standards (e.g., DNV‑ST‑N001).
• Solid understanding of vessel deck constructions, loading, lashing and vessel operations.
• Proficiency in MS Office / 365 and commonly used engineering software.
• Hands‑on, proactive, solution‑oriented mindset with the ability to handle time pressure and tight deadlines.
• Willingness to travel on an international level (around 20%).
• Strong communication skills and a team‑player mentality.
• Excellent command of spoken and written English.
