The Navigating a Transforming World Order: Fellowshipson Security and Technology program from the Volkswagen Foundation supports young postdoctoral researchers who do research on the nexus of security and technology with a distinct European perspective. Respective research projects may, for example, reflect on the role of artificial intelligence, new technologies, and the increasing importance of space in the context of security and defense, as well as address issues such as arms control, deterrence, and ethics.

The award provides 450,000 EUR.

Duration

3 years.

Applicants must be within 5 years of completing their PhD. Applicants must integrate at least two stays at European (international) institutions in their fellowships to develop and strengthen international networks and a decided European perspective.
