Organization and Position
The European Union's bank, the EIB, seeks to recruit an Occupational Health Physician for its Human Resources Directorate (HR), Occupational Health Service Unit (OHS) at its headquarters in Luxembourg. This is a full‑time temporary position at grade 5/6. Part‑time can be considered with a minimum of 60%. The term of this contract ends on 15th December 2026. Panel interviews are anticipated for May/June.
Purpose
In this role, you will monitor the health and safety of staff members by conducting internal occupational health assessments. You will also contribute to prevention and promotion of health at work initiatives and develop policies and actions, providing recommendations to HR management to fulfill the Bank’s duty of care. You may be called upon to advise on and help develop policies on Organisational Health, particularly in psychosocial and occupational risks.
Operating Network
You will report to the Head of the Occupational Health Service Unit. You will have regular contact with all staff and may interact with external contacts such as hospitals, clinics, laboratories, external doctors, and other EU institutions. The work requires on‑site presence at EIB premises.

Unless stated explicitly as a required qualification, a good command of French is not a pre‑requisite for hire. As both English and French are official working languages of the EIB, proficiency in both is a pre‑requisite for your future career development. Any language clause in your contract must be fulfilled in order for you to be eligible for a promotion. Proficiency is understood to mean the attainment of level 5 of the Inter‑Institutional language courses, corresponding to B1.2 of the CEFR. The Bank offers appropriate training support.
