Job Overview

This Respiratory Therapy position provides respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support to in‑patients and out‑patients ranging from neonatal to geriatric.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate overall provision of respiratory care.
Plan, develop, and implement respiratory care programs.
Set up all types of positive airway pressure (PAP) therapy as ordered by physicians.
Educate patients and co‑workers on proper and safe use of equipment.
Monitor patient compliance data and conduct patient and physician follow‑up per department policy.
Set up respiratory and PAP therapy equipment in post‑acute settings.
Review and document all pertinent patient information.
Participate in process improvement initiatives and resolve patient issues.
Communicate with physicians and serve as a respiratory therapy resource.
Monitor patient compliance to therapy and make recommendations.
Adapt communication style to accommodate patient privacy and family needs.
Other related duties as required.

Sign on Bonus

Sign on bonus: $7,500

Education

Required – Associate’s degree from an AMA‑approved school of Respiratory Therapy.
Preferred – Bachelor’s degree in Allied Health or a related field.

Work Experience

Required – None.
Preferred – Experience with Positive Airway Pressure (PAP) and other respiratory home medical equipment.

Certifications

Required – Current license as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice and certification by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
Required – Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs)

Computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval of patient information; proficiency with Windows‑style applications.
Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals.
Knowledge of respiratory equipment and its safe operation.
Reliable transportation to travel to patient homes to set up/monitor equipment.
Availability to be on‑call for patient needs.

Physical & Environmental Demands

The role involves moderate physical activity, including lifting up to 25 pounds, frequent walking, and occasional exposure to blood or bodily fluids. Occupational exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous medications may occur as part of healthcare settings.
