Operational Fleet Manager (m/w/d)

Operational Fleet Manager (m/w/d) – Join Akiem in Krefeld, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. This role focuses on preventive and corrective maintenance planning, customer coordination, and reliability analysis for our rail fleet.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities according to ECM II.
• Monitor and maintain the vehicle history in the CMMS system.
• Coordinate with customers for maintenance activities and participate in regular sales meetings.
• Analyze fault reports from the hotline, customer feedback, and technician reports and determine appropriate actions.
• Check and archive inspection protocols and repair reports in the CMMS system.
• Decide on vehicle suspension and restoration of operations.
• Work closely with material management to coordinate spare parts and components.
• Order external services, control their execution, and review invoices.
• Create proposals for additional services.
• Record and maintain operational KPIs such as availability and fault statistics.
• Support reliability analysis and quality management.
• Identify insurance cases and create corresponding accident reports.
• Organize and plan maintenance activities in accordance with EU Regulation 779/2019.

Qualifications

• Completed technical training (e.g., electrical engineering, mechatronics, metal craftsmanship, locomotive driver), a technical degree (Bachelor/Master), a state-certified technician, or industrial master.
• Experience in maintenance and maintenance management.
• Knowledge of the ECM directive (EU Regulation 779/2019) and ideally expertise in rail vehicles, assemblies, and components.
• Very good German language skills (C2) and good English skills (at least B2); additional European languages are a plus.
• Work independently, solution-oriented, reliable, economical and analytical thinking.
• Team player, strong communication, well organized – and you keep an overview even in complex situations.
