Area of responsibility
The Database Management department is responsible for database operations at the German Pension Insurance data centers. Our Database Transition team is responsible for planning and designing Oracle databases for all pension insurance providers. As a central component of the IT architecture, we play an important role in ensuring the smooth processing of pension transactions.

You

• Collaborating on IT-related analyses and the development and implementation of concepts, standards, and guidelines for DRV Bund IT
• Supporting the planning and coordination of the introduction of new Oracle products and creating the corresponding documentation
• Programming scripts to automate tasks in the database environment
• Monitoring and controlling IT procedures and supporting error analysis and regular updates for our Oracle databases and products
• Participating in IT security and IT quality assurance measures and carrying out training measures
• Supervising and initiating test installations

• A university degree (bachelor's, diploma) in IT or an equivalent qualification, e.g., an IT-specific qualification, completed vocational training as an IT specialist, or comparable practical experience in IT
• In-depth knowledge of Oracle RDBMS and related products
• Initial practical experience in database administration
• Knowledge and experience in identifying, analyzing, and resolving error states in Oracle databases as well as in working with operating systems (Unix/Linux, Shell)
• Ideally, you already have experience with operating high-availability databases on Engineered Systems / EXADATA as well as experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible and Gitlab)
• Experience in project work and in creating and handling documentation is also desirable
• Initiative and creativity, as well as strong team and communication skills, round out your profile

As the data center for the German Pension Insurance, we are an operator of critical infrastructure (KRITIS). Business fluent written and spoken German is required for this position.

The permanent transfer to the new position is generally preceded by a temporary transfer in accordance with § 14 TV DRV-Bund for the purpose of testing the employee in this position. The temporary transfer lasts at least 6 months and should not exceed a period of 12 months.
During the temporary transfer, a personal allowance may be granted. In accordance with §TV DRV Bund, the personal allowance is calculated on the basis of the difference between the current salary and the salary that would have been paid in the event of a permanent transfer in accordance with §sentence 1 TV DRV-Bund. If the trial period is unsuccessful, the employee will return to their previous position (with the personal allowance being discontinued if applicable).

The selected applicant will be permanently transferred to the new position. Promotion to salary grade A 10 BBesO is only possible after a successful trial period within the meaning of § 34 BLV and fulfillment of all other requirements.
If the trial period is not successful, the employee will return to their previous position.
