Operational Technology (OT) Security Specialist

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Operational Technology (OT) Security Specialist with approximately 3 years of experience to support and enhance the security posture of industrial control systems and critical infrastructure environments. You will work closely with IT, engineering, and operations teams to identify risks, implement security controls, and ensure compliance with relevant standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor, detect, and respond to cybersecurity threats within OT environments (e.g., SCADA, PLC systems, etc.)
• Support the implementation and maintenance of OT security controls, policies, and procedures
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and risk analyses across industrial networks
• Assist in incident response activities, including investigation, containment, and recovery
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure secure system design and integration
• Support compliance with relevant frameworks and standards (e.g., IEC 62443, ISO 27001, NIS2)
• Maintain documentation of security configurations, incidents, and mitigation actions
• Participate in security awareness initiatives and training for operational teams

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
• ~3 years of experience in cybersecurity, with exposure to OT/ICS environments preferred
• Basic understanding of industrial protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC, DNP3)
• Familiarity with network security concepts (firewalls, segmentation, intrusion detection)
• Experience with security tools such as SIEM, vulnerability scanners, or endpoint protection
• Knowledge of risk management and security best practices
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, energy, utilities, or critical infrastructure sectors
• Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, GICSP, or CISSP (or working toward)
• Understanding of German/EU cybersecurity regulations and standards (e.g., BSI IT-Grundschutz)
• Basic scripting or automation skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell)

Language Requirements

• Fluency in English (required)
• German language skills (B1–C1 level preferred, depending on role and client interaction)
