About the role

The Parking team is within the Compliance Operations Unit and is part of the Amenity and Compliance branch. Other teams within the branch include Animal Management, Local Laws, Business Support, School Crossings and Prosecutions.

Parking Officers contribute to the safety and amenity of the municipality through the provision of information, assistance and advice to the community, and the enforcement of Acts, local laws and Regulations.

This is a high‑profile position in the community, as the team proactively patrols in vehicles and on foot, informing and educating the public and enforcing parking offences.

In this role you will work closely with supportive colleagues while investigating and enforcing allegations of breaches of Parking Legislation.

Working both individually and as part of a larger team you will need to be self‑motivated, organised, have high attention to detail and able to work with conflicting priorities.

Working closely with the public you’ll need the ability to communicate clearly and calmly and provide excellent customer experience.

Shift times vary from 6.45am to 11.00pm during the week and on weekends as part of a rotating roster.

Experience in the application of the law including evidence collection and note‑taking, and conflict resolution is highly desirable.
