Patent & Standardization Manager (m/f/d)

As an Innovation/Standardization Manager, you will actively manage an outstanding patent portfolio and develop new property rights based on innovative products and functions. You will bring the vision, communication skills, and technical expertise required to identify the relevant solution paths from the roadmap and open the solution spaces for project developments through appropriate property rights. You will also actively participate in relevant standardization committees and working groups and represent the interests of JOST. Internally, you will lead standardization committees to coordinate with the specialist departments.

Key responsibilities

• Management and optimization of the patent portfolio in line with the corporate strategy and product roadmap.
• Coordination of new patent applications and monitoring of international renewal and maintenance of patents.
• Further development and standardization of internal patent processes.
• Commissioning and coordination of patent attorneys and monitoring of the patent budget.
• Participation in specific standardization committees and working groups (e.g., DIN, VDA, CLEPA, SAE).
• Management of internal standardization committees and support for regional and national standardization projects.
• Synchronization of the R&D roadmap with standardization activities to ensure consistency.
• Coordination of standards (regulatory/ customer/ internal).

Qualifications and skills

• Successfully completed degree in engineering in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics, or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in product or process development.
• At least 5 years of experience in patent law in practice (global/special focus German law).
• Knowledge of managing international and interdisciplinary project teams.
• Experience in innovation management and the application of regulations.
• Very good intercultural communication skills (English and German) and stakeholder management in international organizations.
