People Lead - Banking Operations (f/m/d)

A leading international financial services firm is expanding its digital banking operations in Berlin and is looking for a Banking Operations People Lead to build, lead, and develop a high‑performing operations team.

In this role, you will combine hands‑on banking operations expertise with strong people leadership, using data and performance insights to continuously improve customer experience, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.

Fluent German required.

Responsibilities

• Act as the subject matter expert for Banking Operations topics and support your team with deep operational knowledge
• Build, lead, and develop a high‑performing Banking Operations team
• Serve as a cultural and people leader, with a strong focus on coaching and development
• Track and analyse team KPIs, driving performance improvements and exceeding service targets
• Use performance and customer data to identify trends and implement improvement actions
• Ensure regulatory compliance and act as a strong advocate for customers
• Collaborate closely with cross‑functional stakeholders to deliver a best‑in‑class customer experience

Required Experience

• Strong experience within the German banking / financial services landscape
• Solid background in Banking Operations, e.g.:
  • Payments
  • Customer data management
  • Power of attorney
  • Bereavement cases
  • Data privacy requests
• Good understanding of regulatory requirements and timelines
• People leadership experience / Experience with performance management, coaching, and team development
• Fluent German (mandatory)
